Bhakti [devotion] gives us a human relationship with God. It directs our whole being to God. First worship the guru with utter devotion, and then see the guru in everyone. We have to have purity, sincerity and divine devotion, coming from the heart, mind and senses. Krishna says, ‘At all times think only of Me and fight. Without doubt thou shalt [you will] come to Me.’
Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi accepted anyone and everyone as her very own.
You get great benefit in spiritual life when you live for somebody else. To the extent that you live and serve selflessly, to that extent you forget yourself and therefore you forget your ego.
This temptation on the outside is called maya. Maya [the divine power of illusion/delusion] is attracting you in the form of kaya or body. It is attracting you always. So detect it and quickly shift the emphasis from body-consciousness to Spirit-consciousness.
You can never realise God through your own efforts alone – you must have the grace of God.
