Day 859
You meet a sadhu [holy person, monk, nun], and that day you really take birth. Otherwise you are more dead than alive. Then your sadhana [spiritual practice] begins because you have a living example, i.e. you have something to contrast your life against. Then your life on earth is blessed.
Give God love – that is the greatest thing. A holy man loves God and for God he will even give up his life.
There is nothing like obeying the instructions of the guru [spiritual preceptor]. You can't? Then rather live in the world.
When the world accepts you as a child of God, then you are fit for God-realisation.
At the time of death remember Him and surrender at His feet.
Meditate on Brahman [the immutable universal consciousness]. If you think 'Brahman is love,' you will become that.
Why do we get angry? Because something or someone stands between us and what we want. Desire for enjoyment leads to anger. So give. Act without thought of return. Sublimate it and get rid of it, otherwise there is no progress in spiritual life.
Lust and anger must be avoided. The whole past [including karmas, vasanas or samskaras or impressions from previous births] is the greatest obstacle now. Think: If I did wrong in the past, it is finished [over]. Be wide awake in future.
