Swami Shivapadananda with thoughts on spirituality
DAILY READINGS
Taken from Mother Radha’s
notes, written at Swamiji’s feet.
Day 272
In the Yoga Vasishta we read: This present moment is infinitely more
powerful than all the ages gone by. The
mind must develop as great a sensitivity as the body which shakes with the pain
of a thorn in the foot.
When old habits hurt, then they drop away.
Live in the world like an ant – take the sugar and leave the sand – take
the Truth and leave the untruth.
God descends as man that he may ascend to God.
Anger is a hissing snake – you must kill [control] it.
If you are suspicious of someone [or their motives] either ignore the change – or, if you
are brave enough, go direct to them and ask.
Brahman is the only male [power, consciousness], we are all females.
Purity of mind, pure love, makes the saint adored by all.
Before it was “I” – but now we want to live in “Thou.”
Aum Namah Shivaya – this is a great
mantra. Take it and reach divinity.
Shiva is the great redeemer, in the form of the guru’s word. The guru
and you are One, there is no separation. Shiva belongs to none. He is your own
soul, your very own Self. Chant his mantra constantly. Understand your own
Self, seek and find your own Self.
Yes, you have lost your Self and that is why you are crying. Kneel to
your own Self, honour it, chant the mantra. God is dwelling within you. The
only siddhi [spiritual power] worth having is seeing your own Soul within you
