Swami Shivapadananda on the compassion of the Guru

Day 358
Sleep on the left [side of your body] after eating. This aids fast
digestion and clears the right nostril.
Exhalation must be from the bottom [of the lungs] to the top.
When are we going to wake up? When, when, when?
That is right, keep the spiritual fires stoked. When they get low go to
the holy ones. If you are holy, you will find many holy men.
When I see you, I see myself within you.
Give the Guru all, surrender to him, the good and the bad, he takes all.
You run from the suffering in the world and you come here to seek bliss.
Ha ha.
When are we going to stand naked in front of God? When? This is the
meaning of renunciation: you will take all your clothes off in front of the
Guru, and he gives you the ochre robes.
The guru is ever-loving, he will never forsake you. He has already
waited millennia for you. Ask for his hand to guide you.
When you experience It [God-consciousness, realisation], all suffering
becomes glory. Think of the life of Jesus the Christ.
Every experience is given to you by the Guru. Sit in a room for three
days and think: No, not that, not the food, not the water, not sleep, not the Swami.
Think of everything, of all the temptations, and remember that temptation is
very subtle, it also comes in the form of a sage [i.e. well-disguised or concealed] , and so on. Say, ‘Not this,
not this.’ Do it. God must manifest. He does not want his children to suffer
too much.
