DAILY READINGS

Day 350

 

Only ripe fruit falls. Do not forget again that [the Divine] Mother is the best
bookkeeper. Her time is the right time.

 

Rain falls, evaporates and rises again. We do this too in the end [i.e. the cycle of birth and re-birth].

 

See God in every face. Look at every face and see God there. Only then
there is no separation, no obstacle between you and God.

 

God, God, God.

 

Devotee: It is hard to get up early in the morning when you are
alone. 

Swamiji: You are never alone, God is always there. He never sleeps.

 

Long for God, cry for God, think only, ‘God, God, God.’ Think of Krishna in your heart and you are at his lotus feet.

 

Action performed after renunciation does not bind, as all actions are
offerings to the Guru, to the Lord. Thus through service to the Guru, with
utter self-dedication, the heart becomes pure and ultimately the Lord becomes
the preceptor. The renunciate has completely surrendered to the Lord and
attained the highest intuition. When surrender is complete Divine Grace dawns
in him and divine power does the sadhana [spiritual practice]. Divine Grace takes possession of
body, mind, will and life, and sadhana goes on at great speed.

 

Japa [repetition of a mantra or God’s names] problems are caused by the impure mind. Japa is the best purifier,
the best tranquiliser. Japa keeps the impure mind busy, out of trouble. Gurudev [Swami Nischalananda, Swamiji’s Guru] said, ‘When you get up in the morning,
start japa and do for half an hour. Then during the day, every half an hour or
so, do japa.’ This habit brings peace and happiness. Before going to bed, do
half an hour of japa. Then you will sleep soundly and the current of japa will
keep up in sleep.
