The expression, ‘the guru’s lotus feet,’ indicates that his feet are like the lotus, above the mud, untainted.

Look at the tapasya the guru does. Every time you do wrong, you drive a nail into him. He does not mind, what can he do? He has to carry the burden.

The Bhagavad Gita says: ‘Out of thousands of yogis, one perchance knows Me [Lord Krishna/Brahman] in reality.’

Gurus are plenty but chelas (disciples) are few.

Never go to the guru empty-handed. He does not need what you give him, but because you go to him, take him something. Do not always take from him.

Never try to teach others. Tell stories and glories, and learn from each other.

One touch of the Divine Mother’s Sword gives liberation.

It is best to keep silence or to say few words. There should be no argument, no discussion [at the guru’s feet]. Go to the guru and sit silently.

Keep mentally alert, be open minded. This leads the soul to God.

Say what you think. If you are wrong you will get a scolding. Never mind.

The guru can know all about the chela if he wants.

We are all prisoners, let us be happy together. Satsang is to gather together in the name of God to glorify Him.
