Mantras to the Divine Mother
DAILY READINGS
From Mother Radha's recordings of Swamiji

One day Swami Ramakrishnananda, whilst looking at [Holy] Mother [Sri Sarada Devi – pictured above in bodily old age] with his whole being full of emotion, started saying the three mantras that you read in the prayer books today.
Om sarva mangala mangalye shive sarvartha sadhike
Sharanye tryambake gauri narayani namostu te
Shristi stithi vinashanam shakti bhute sanatani
Gunashraye gunamai narayani namostu te
Sharanagata dinarta paritrana parayane
Sarvasyarti hare devi narayani namostu te
Swami Ramakrishnananda used to prostrate fully, shasthanga pranam [i.e flat on the face, full-length on the floor arms and hands stretched forward in prayer position], and utter his prayers, cry and roll on the ground. That feeling is captured in these prayers which are uttered in every Ramakrishna Ashram, both here and in India. They represent the love that Swami Ramakrishnananda had, felt and saw. They represent the truth: who she was. They are from the Devi Mahatmyam but he saw that they were applicable to Sri Sarada Devi herself.
Every morning I recite these prayers to Her and then I say:
Om jayanti mangala kali bhadrakali kapalani
Durga kshama shiva dhatri swaha swadha namostu te
Ya sri svayam sukritinam bhavanesu alakshmi
Papatmanam kritadiyam hridayeshu buddhi
Sraddha satam kulajana prashavasya lajja
Tam tvam natasma paripalaya devi vishvam
You are the One who preserved the whole universe; if you preserved the whole universe, Ma, will you not preserve me? You must preserve me too.
