Daily Reading 15. Swamiji on the realness of Sri Ramakrishna’s experiences – and Swami Vivekananda’s vision.

Taken from Mother Radha’s notes, written at Swamiji’s feet.
After many spiritual experiences Sri Ramakrishna said to the Divine Mother, ‘O Mother, if all these divine experiences of mine be true, this large boulder here will jump up thrice [three times].’ And this happened as soon as Sri Ramakrishna said it!
Swami Vivekananda said: ‘I am born to organise these young men [his fellow disciples] and I want to send them rolling like an irresistible wave over India, bringing comfort, morality, religion and education to the doors of the meanest and most downtrodden. This I will do, or die.’
Swamiji Shivananda Mahapurush [a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna] was asked, ‘When is happiness obtained?’ He replied. ‘When you eat delicious food, hear melodious song, and the mind becomes tranquil. And where is tranquillity? In our own hearts. When the mind is calm, that happiness is reflected in it.’
Feel for others. Peace is your essential nature. What can be better than that you forget me and remember Him [God] only. Life is very precious. It is meant to help us know and understand, ‘What is the Truth?’ Truth is God and God alone.
He alone is living who makes the best effort to solve life’s problems – to know and to be in communion with God, with one’s own Self and with the Self of all. Others merely exist.
