Talks Excerpt 369. Swamiji on ‘Meditating’: Just let the thoughts come, no matter if they are good or bad.

From Mother Radha’s notes, written at Swamiji’s feet.
Do not speak of your spiritual experiences. If you do, their secret is gone. So keep quiet.
Calmness helps us to go within – but only helps. You must strive to go deeper.
This should be the prayer of a dying person: ‘Let my brain be merged with the all-pervading inmost prana and may the body be returned to ashes.’
This is my message to you all: Meditate, meditate, meditate. Take God’s name, take God’s name, take God’s name. Love, love, love. What is love? You don’t know. In the beginning love seems to be that you do not retaliate when someone hurts you.
The body is the temple of God; so worship it. When your senses are under control, think that God speaks through you and you speak to God.
Go deeper in meditation. Devotee: Can’t, Swamiji. Swamiji: Can. Must. Sit in the early morning, that is the best time to sit for a long time, and just let the thoughts come, no matter if they are good or bad.
Carry a photo of your guru, speak to it, feed it. Make it real, make it living.

These recordings or the excerpts from them, were made from the early 1970s onward, by Mother Radha, a close devotee of Swamiji’s and edited for uploading here by our gurubhai and her son, Brother Tim. Please be mindful that what Swamiji was saying may have been specific to an individual or a group of people with him, at the time.
