Swami Shivapadananda Puri explains that your state of mind – and hence your vibration – affects all around you.
We haven't missed a post, in case you notice a skipped number in the audio clip sequence.😉102 track 2 is Sanskrit chanting – a mixture of slokas from the Sri Guru Stotram, Sri Sarada Devi Stotram and Sri Kunjika Stotram, by Swamiji, which is here, if you'd like to listen to it.
Paraphrased overview: This new posting below (102 track 3) is where Swamiji refers to how focusing on one word, can exclude attention paid to other words or stimuli.
Says Swamiji: Each word of the scriptures is a symbol and each time you utter a word, a thought comes up. Positive thought, positive thought, positive thought. Swamiji uses the example of the Sri Vishnu mantra, Shantakaram Bhujagashayanam etc. Shanta immediately invokes peace. So the scriptural word inspires a thought and creates with it, a vibration – which is the most important aspect of all. It can change the whole vibration of a particular place, a particular man, says Swamiji.
Swamiji asks a devotee: 'After all, do you know what the whole body is, my boy?' The devotee answers, 'vibration?' but Swamiji says, 'It's Mind. This body is made out of thought. When you generate this (positive) thought, it changes the whole environment. It transforms each cell.
Says Swamiji: That's why, if a man is worshipping God inside, you will find that everything is harmonious. And wherever he goes, automatically the place becomes harmonious, because he's vibrating in a positive way.
Positive is always strongest, because it's not haphazard. The positive vibration works in such a way that all disharmonious vibrations become harmonised.
Swamiji: Be good and do good – it's what the Buddha said. So naturally everything will become good. Therefore, in the highest terms, if you can just be positive, you don't need God. Because the supremely positive is God. And there's nothing better than that.
Swamiji says that if we can maintain a positive state of vibration, we will be a blessing wherever we go. Everything is permeated by God. Even you are permeated by God.
Wherever you go, you will be a blessing. A mobile-blessing yogi. Everywhere you go, will be blessed.
Swamiji: So that's the idea – to always be good. And it's easy. It's easy, believe me. We've got into the habit of thinking negatively So we slip back to negative things. Instead of saying, 'Don't!' why not say, 'Do!' Say the opposite of that negative. Instead of saying, don't hate, rather say, 'Please love, please love.'
Swamiji gives the example of someone contemplating taking his own life. Instead of saying, Please don't kill yourself, remind him instead of his wife and children. What about your brothers and sisters? They're good people. Slowly inspire him without mentioning suicide. Use a positive thought, always. Instead of highlighting the disharmony, emphasise the harmony. And once you do that, the person will find the harmony themselves.
