Swami Shivapadananda on vibrations, and the mind being ‘the greatest broadcasting and receiving station.’
Swamiji starts the talk by asking the question: Does our immediate physical environment play a role in the effectiveness of our sadhana (spiritual practise)? He uses as an example, the tranquil surroundings found in images and paintings of the gods, Rishis, saints and sages. Beautiful landscapes, trees, foliage, waterfalls and the like. Those images are sending a message. And they're included for a reason.
This is a deeply philosophical and introspective talk and a valuable lesson for personal and spiritual development. Swamiji highlights in a joking way, our insignificance and context in the bigger scheme of things. Swamiji says that in the grand scale of things, we are actually 'Mr. No-noticeable'. 😉
Swamiji speaks about the daily, chronic 'collision of minds' in our lives as we come into contact with others, and the disruption it causes. He says there's less of that vibratory conflict in a holy place. But it's still there. Read and listen on for solutions.
The relevance of the Rishis and others choosing natural surroundings, is that nature is always in harmony with God's vibration. It's never out of synch with that vibration.
Just one bad thought or lie from us, creates a ripple throughout creation says Swamiji. It's 'broadcast' and picked up even at a vast distance. He says our minds are the greatest broadcasting and receiving stations. And we must therefore be so careful about what we broadcast.
Swamiji adds: 'There's one good thing about this mind: What you broadcast, you'll get it back.' A scary, or beautiful thought – depending on us as individuals. Listen to Swamiji explaining how the influence of others around us, plays a role in our automatic, unconsciously-driven responses.
Using Nature as a physical or even an imaginary, mental environment, says Swamiji, helps to get the mind in tune. Swamiji sums it up in a nutshell: Plants never fight against nature. You'll never find the five elements fighting against nature. They're always in tune with God's rhythmic vibration.
Swamiji concludes with a mind and life-changing tip that will bring mental peace to those who hear and implement it.
