Day 901
Jealousy is obstruction and destruction. But jealousy about [or for] God – that's different. In the scriptures something good always comes of it. Like Christ gave Judas [Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus as part of the divine play] eternal life. Ravana [the demon king of Sri Lanka] carried Sita away but [Lord] Rama sent him to heaven.
What is the absolute and relative goal [of spiritual life]? To realise dharma [righteousness/God-hood].
Meditation on God leads us to God. Do not underestimate Sri Ramakrishna. He is the wish-fulfilling tree. He is the wish-fulfilling root that gives life to the branches, leaves and so on. Give him what he loves. Sri Ramakrishna is the embodiment of all the deities, past, present and future.
God on Earth suffers too. Sri Ramakrishna had cancer [of the throat] to teach us to become above suffering. Christ, Rama, Krishna, Allah and so on, all came from Him [i.e. He was the embodiment of all the incarnations (avatars) and the godhead itself]. He is [both the] relative [dualistic, dvaita] and Absolute [monistic, non-dual, advaita].
Question: Sri Ramakrishna always speaks about God-realisation and God-love. Must we all pray only for God-love and God-realisation?
Swamiji: Yes, that is what he loves.
Question: What if some spooks [ghosts] are worrying me?
Swamiji: Well, Sri Ramakrishna knows best. What worries you, he will take away. You just get to love him. Because then he will surely get to love you. But do not underestimate Sri Ramakrishna at any time.
