Day 270

With true detachment you feel compassion. If you see a child drowning
you think, ‘How terrible’ and you jump in and both of you drown. That is
attachment. But if you stop and think, ‘I will call a lifesaver because I know
I am not a good swimmer,’ that is detachment with compassion.

If Shiva stood in front of you and asked, ‘What do you want?’ What would
you say? I would say, “Just your blessing, Lord.” And if Christ stood in front
of you and asked you, ‘What do you want?’ What would you say? I would say, ‘I
want you, Lord.’

Question: But I would not know what to do if I got Him. Swamiji: You
would not have to think of that, He would do it for you. You are part of God
and therefore you are God.

How did Christ feed the 5000? He fed them spiritually and physically.
‘What you desire you shall receive.’ Thought is vibration. Thought is.

Oh, you do not know how compassionate Lord Shiva is.

Swami Vivekananda said about prana [the Universal life force], ‘Use
Mother’s prana for all healing work.’ All comes at the right time, at the right
place.

When you are happy, others around you are too. You give off vibrations
all the time. If another person’s vibrations are stronger than yours, he will
affect you. You must make use of your mantra, the name of God, that is your
protection. Then the other person’s vibrations cannot affect you. You can
repeat any name, all are equally powerful.

Awareness is when you are without thought or feeling, but each cell is
alert, is ready to act, and then acts spontaneously. When are you going to open
your eyes to That? Close your eyes to ‘this’ and open them to ‘That.’ This is
all a dream. When your eyes are closed to this world they are open to That. And
when they are open to that world, they are closed to this world.
