Swami Shivapadananda on ‘nagging’ God
SWAMI SHIVAPADANANDA
DAILY READINGS
Taken from Mother Radha’s
notes, written at Swamiji’s feet.
Day 336
Pray: ‘O God, this is your body, mind and senses, do what you like with
it.’ Try this for three months and see what happens.
Always be happy even if you are bleeding [suffering].
Swamiji is a crutch which is
soon gone. Stand on your own feet.
Pray: ‘O God, keep your bliss, your God-realisation, your happiness,
your health, your wealth. You have done enough for me.’ Reject all these
worldly thoughts, He will force you to merge.
Sometimes you want to give the guru a flower. Nothing makes you, it just
happens.
If the chela doubts, it is the guru’s job to disperse the darkness of
doubt.
Sit for a little meditation and lift yourself to Her [the Divine Mother‘s] feet, or sit on Her head. Then go out and work, work, work. Then go back
inside, again and again. In the evening sit, and sing and dance. See God in
all, in all thought, word, deed.
Pray: ‘O Lord, take me back to you, to the source.’ Or: ‘O Lord, come
back to me now, you are my child.’ Do this. Who will get tired first?
Serve at the feet of the Ishta Devata [chosen Ideal or Deity] – this way
there is no ‘I’. When there is no ‘I’, nothing in between you and God.
Trying to help others spiritually is no good. At this stage help
yourself spiritually not others.
