Talk Excerpt 205. Swamiji says we are not born sinners.

From Mother Radha’s notes, written at Swamiji’s feet.
Sri Ramakrishna said, ‘Worship of anything that helps you to see God is good. A man is born with limitations but is not born a sinner – he must overcome those limitations.’
Sri Ramakrishna stresses, not compassion, but the service of man, knowing man to be a manifestation of God.
God created the world and became all the objects and yet is beyond all these.
Do your duty, but do it as worship of God.
To cool the head – use mustard oil or coconut oil.
Our religion is not based on personality, it is based on eternal laws. The Vedas give knowledge and people give guidance. The Vedas teach principle not persons. Religion is being and becoming.
If you have not seen God, vain is your preaching. If you have seen God, your face will shine.
The Gopis understood the perfection of Krishna’s love – they asked nothing.
Love for love’s sake, duty for duty’s sake.
First make yourself pure. If there is selfishness in the heart love is impossible – it is just shopkeeping. Forget everything but love for Him – then the disciple, the teacher and the teaching all become one.
