Talks Excerpt 338. Swamiji: To meditate is to touch God.

From Mother Radha’s notes, written at Swamiji’s feet.
Reading from a book:
In meditation let all sound become the inexpressible vibration of the mantra. Let the perpetual movement of thought become simple, pure, uncompounded awareness, so that, without union, without division, the great bliss [Satchidananda] is revealed.
To meditate is to touch God. It is the feeling with which you do meditation that is important. Satsang opens up the heart and the mind.
Brahman is the sky, Krishna is the colour of the sky. Can you separate them?
In the scriptures we read: ‘He who worships me with faith and love, who gives me all his heart, is my own.’
Do everything for the guru. Renounce the world and ultimately surrender to the guru. Repeat, ‘I do all for him,’ and the ego goes. We do not really love Him because we do not know God’s love, so we use the guru.
Swamiji: Do you want to live in the world? Devotee: No, Swamiji. Swamiji: Then hurry up, do your duties and then go.
You come here and expect the guru to give you knowledge. But what you have in your mind, he reflects. Come to any guru with an open mind, so you receive his teachings.
Look at the chair but do not say ‘chair,’ say ‘God, God, God.’ Keep on doing this. It will lead to inner transformation.

These recordings or the excerpts from them, were made from the early 1970s onward, by Mother Radha, a close devotee of Swamiji’s and edited for uploading here by our gurubhai and her son, Brother Tim. Please be mindful that what Swamiji was saying may have been specific to an individual or a group of people with him, at the time.
