Talks Excerpt 289. Swamiji says the Divine Mother is always our Mother. And teases us…

Have you the faith to surrender all to God?

She [the Divine Mother] is always your Mother, though sometimes She teases you and pretends not to listen. Let Her work through you.

Be happy, happy, happy and give, give, give – that is the mantra for today.

Meditation just happens. Just sit a little, lift yourself up to Mother’s feet, go within.Then go out and work, work, work. In the evening go within, sing and dance in
God’s name.

Bhakti is the easiest – love all, see God in all, have God in every thought, word and
deed.

When are you going to do it? Today? Time is short. If you do not do it now you will never do it. ‘Knock and it shall be opened.’ This is a promise of the Lord [Jesus].

Master [Sri Ramakrishna] said just three days concentration on God is enough. Karma is karma only because you think it is.

Now say, ‘I am a saint.’ Believe it, think it, speak it – and you will be it.

A sadhu was bathing in the river and he found a stick. Straight away he said, ‘Ah, this is my stick.’ Later on he lost it. Then he said, ‘Ah, I am so sad, I lost my stick.’ This is no good; helping yourself and not others. Possessions for selfish reasons are
not good.

Devotee: Can one help oneself, Swamiji? Swamiji: Yes. Keep trying to build up your strength, your discrimination, your purity. This leads you to a state of meditation; and this leads you to God-realisation. It must.
