Talks Excerpt 364. Swamiji says: The Guru has left the region of purity or clear water and has returned to the region of muddy water, the pond of this world.

From Mother Radha’s notes, written at Swamiji’s feet.
When your guru goes away, you cry for him in your heart.
If the mind is leading you to the world and you cry, this is not good. Cry for the guru inside (in your heart).
You think you love the guru but you are only mocking him. What do we know of love? If he just scolds you you get angry. What kind of love is that? Love is always loving and giving. The Beloved cannot do wrong, cannot take.
A flower is the glory of God already, why cut it and offer it to the stone image? If you do that, first pray, ‘O Ma, allow me to pluck this flower, a thing of beauty and wonder, so I may offer it to Him, the Beloved of my heart, who is also part of your manifestation. Thank you.’ And then pluck it. Otherwise it is murder, stealing.
You just do not know how the guru loves you. To help you, he has left the region of purity, or clear water, and has returned to the region of muddy water, the pond of this world, to swim in it, to help us all to reach God-realisation. He bears a thousand crucifixions to help you and me.
God descends to help man to ascend.
You worship your husband above God, but who is the husband? The body? When he takes another wife, do you still love him? Is he still God? No. See what he really is and worship that.
Nuns are the brides of Christ, correct? Can there be fear where there is love? No. How many of you fear me? It is better if you go outside, play ball or read a book. You are not ready for the spiritual path, you are full of jealousy, fear and lust.
